Has anyone ever used one of these or something similar? Did it work?

My seatpost was creaking and when I pulled it out, it was full of friggin sand. Looking to prevent repeat issues.

On a steel bike I have just put a bead of RTV around the post/frame interface. Frame would fill up with water during wet rides. Cleaned the frame side well but left a thin film of antiseize on the post and I was able to adjust it without ruining the seal. It worked well, did not survive removing the post but resealing it was easy.

Or like dougal said, just cut an old tube and wrap it around with some tape.
